Going Tribal

I've been into belly dancing since I was 5 years old, I find it seductive, entrancing and beautiful in every way! Last Thursday I went to the Puyallup fair with my sis and watched a tribal belly dance troop perform! It was lovely and I was stoked to take classes and try out a different form of the art! So Friday I picked up a beautiful flowey skirt, altered it to fit and went to bed early in anticipation of Saturday mornings class!!

I've taken belly dance classes before but this is the first time I've done dancing since my surgery.......It is also the first time I've done Tribal which I learned VERY quickly is VERY different from the moves I'm familiar with!! The dance studio is great and equipped with walls of mirrors.......unfortunately that meant that I was able to get a goooooood look at what an uncoordinated awkward mess I am!!! :-P
My left side seems to have decided that it wants nothing to do with my right side or following direction from my brain!!! The great part is as awkward as I looked I was completely accepted and embraced by the rest of the class and they were encouraging me at every step.....er stumble lol! I had an absolute blast and can't wait for next Saturday!! Till then I've got a week to practice the moves and hopefully convince the left side of my body to listen!!

What is a life worth?

People generally believe that life is priceless and I agree with that..........but if there were to be a price tag placed on life what would it be? How much does it cost to keep your heart beating, lungs breathing, your head thinking, your soul singing?

I received a letter in the mail yesterday answering my question. It was a bill from Good Samaritan Hospital with a loose breakdown of the costs for my stay.

It would seem that my life is worth $86,485.42

$86,485.42 Such a big number, yet hard to actually grasp because it's only numbers on paper. Hmmmm one me = 1/4 of the average home cost, 1/3 the cost of an Astin Martin.....or for the less car savvy...about 3 Honda accords. AND finally 28,924.88 comic books!! Granted after adjustments and insurance my part of that is almost non existent but still thought it's an interesting reality to have a price for my pulse!!

I have 2, the first one Maggie, went to heaven before I got to meet her. Autumn is nearly 3 and makes each and every moment of my life a joy. I want to have another more than anything but will have to see wait and see if it's meant to be part of my story.

Do you wanna go to college: I would LOVE to further my education! I've been to massage school and loved it, I'm a PI and am always looking for continuing education there and I may look into someday becoming an ultrasound tech if I ever get sick of Sleuthing!

Thoughts on abortion: I have always hated the idea of abortion because I have had fertility issues. It really bothered me that someone could take the life of a child when people who wanted them so badly were left without. As I've grown older and seen the world differently there are sometimes cases in which I see it as more of a blessing to the child to not be brought into a world where they will not be taken care of. But when it comes down to it I would rather see people be careful with life. Adoption is a great option too!

If you could be anywhere right now where would you be: In a place where I would be allowed to have people in my life because I wanted them there! A place where my relationships with friends would be understood and accepted. Vegas would be REALLY great too!

Do you wear contacts/glasses: Yep glasses cause I am blind as a bat!!! I really want to get contacts and eventually laser surgery.
